Lahbab or Al Awir Evening Desert Safari
Six hours: hotel pickup, dune bashing on the Lahbab or Al Awir reds, sandboarding, camel ride, live entertainment, BBQ buffet under the stars. Runs 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM, per person pricing.
Half-Day Morning Desert Safari
Cool air, soft light, half-day. Built for families, kids, and anyone wary of summer heat or the harder dune lines. Runs 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM, per person pricing.
Lahbab Overnight Desert Camp
Sleep in the dunes. AED 399 covers the shared desert tent: BBQ dinner, stargazing away from the city lights, a sunrise camel trek, hot breakfast. Private tents and premium domes cost more. Runs 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM next day, per person pricing.
Private Land Cruiser Desert Safari
Your Cruiser, your call. Pickup time, route, pace, all on you. Six guests max per vehicle. RTA-certified driver, no exceptions. You pick the window, per vehicle, up to 6 guests.
Private Majlis VIP Evening
Private majlis on the dune edge with the quad bike folded into the headline price. 3-course plated chef BBQ, falconry up close. Evening departure, per person pricing.
Desert Safari Without Dune Bashing
Same camp, same BBQ, same falcon and henna sets. A smooth 45-minute drive replaces the dune bashing. Built for pregnancy, back conditions, and small kids. Evening departure, per person pricing.
What a Dubai desert safari actually is
A Dubai desert safari is a packaged trip into the dunes outside the city, starting and ending at your hotel. Shared packages are priced per person; private hires per vehicle. A Land Cruiser collects you from the lobby and drives 25 to 45 minutes east to the Lahbab or Al Awir dune belt, assigned by day and pickup zone. At the sand edge the driver drops the tyre pressure, then runs the dune-bashing section, 25 to 35 minutes depending on the package you booked. The convoy stops on a high ridge for the sunset, or the sunrise on a morning departure, before pulling into a desert camp for sandboarding, a camel ride, henna, a live tanoura and fire show, and a BBQ buffet. The same vehicle drives you back.
Elapsed time is measured lobby to lobby, not from the moment you reach the sand. The shortest published format is the 4-hour morning run; the longest is the 18-hour overnight. Shared evening formats sit between six and six and a half hours.
Evening is the standard format: winter pickup between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM, dune bashing on the Lahbab or Al Awir reds, sunset from a ridge, dinner at the camp, hotel drop-off by 9:30 PM. Morning swaps the sunset for cooler air and a shorter loop, collecting you between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM and returning by 11:00 AM. Overnight keeps you out there. Eighteen hours, 3:00 PM pickup to 9:00 AM return, stargazing after dinner, a camel trek at sunrise.

Good to know before you book
- Hotel pickup across Dubai is inside the published price. Marina, Downtown, Deira, and Al Barsha pickups all land at the headline rate. Pickup points outside Dubai get confirmed in the WhatsApp thread before you book.
- Shared vehicles carry two to six guests. Six is the hard cap per Land Cruiser under Dubai DET safety rules, so a group of seven or more runs on a second vehicle at the same per-vehicle rate.
- Children under 4 travel free, ages 4 to 11 pay the child rate. Pregnancy, back or neck trouble, and motion sensitivity all route onto the no-dune-bashing evening at the same price as the standard one.

Video description
A black Land Cruiser dune bashing across the red dunes at Lahbab, with white SUVs visible in the background. It crests a ridge head-on, throws up a wide cloud of sand, slides down the far side, and keeps carving through the dunes while onlookers watch from a parked SUV on a distant ridge. The clip is silent, with no narration or dialogue.
The six-hour evening
Dune bashing at sunset, then dinner at a desert camp
A Land Cruiser collects you from your hotel around 3 PM. Forty minutes out, the driver drops the tyre pressure and carves the Lahbab or Al Awir red dunes, assigned by day and pickup zone. You stop on a ridge for the sunset, then roll into a desert camp for sandboarding, a camel ride, henna, a live tanoura (spinning-skirt) and fire show, and a BBQ buffet under the stars. Hotel drop-off by 9:30 PM.
- Dune bashing , tyre-down 4x4 across the Lahbab or Al Awir red dunes
- Sunset on the ridge , the photo stop before the camp pulls in
- Desert camp , sandboarding, camel ride, henna, a tanoura and fire show
- BBQ buffet dinner , vegetarian and halal options, served under the stars

Booked the AED 199 evening at 11 PM on a Tuesday, confirmation back inside 7 minutes. The Land Cruiser was at our Downtown lobby at 3:32 PM. Sunset on the ridge was exactly the photograph we came to Dubai for.
The shisha and quad bike charges were listed on the page before we even messaged. Brought AED 250 in cash for those, paid the safari on card. First time in Dubai we left a desert camp without a surprise line on the bill.
Booked the premium dome for our 10-year anniversary. The clear ceiling, the en-suite bathroom, the breakfast at sunrise, every single detail landed. The AED 750 was less than one night at our Dubai hotel and worth twice the city stay.
I booked the morning slot specifically for the sunrise light over Lahbab. The 7:10 AM ridge stop gave me 25 minutes of clean low-angle frames before the convoy moved on. Better light than any evening I have shot in the UAE.
Booked the no-bash route at 26 weeks pregnant. Same AED 199 price, the driver Hamza took the paved road straight to the Sonara-style camp, we arrived 30 minutes early and got the longest camel ride of any group there. The BBQ, the henna, the fire show, nothing was cut.
I shoot travel for a living. The Platinum VIP routed us inside the DDCR, which is the only Dubai dune system without operator clutter in every frame. Defender transfer arrived 5 minutes early. Got the cleanest desert portfolio I have shot in six years.
Booked a private safari at AED 899 to propose at the sunset photo stop. The driver routed us to a quiet ridge away from the shared convoys and gave us a 15-minute hold for the proposal. Cake and champagne were waiting at the majlis. She said yes.
Date night on the standard tier. Knowing the reddest window opened at 4:50 PM in January meant we skipped the rush and stayed on the ridge until the colour dropped to grey. Driver waited. Camp dinner was warm when we arrived.
Desert safari Dubai questions: prices, timings, pickup & safety
-
How does booking on WhatsApp work end to end?
Tap any Book button and WhatsApp opens with the package pre-filled: name, your hotel zone, a date placeholder. Send it. A coordinator replies with availability, your exact pickup time, and the VAT-inclusive AED total, all in the same chat. Message overnight and the morning shift picks it up first thing. Groups larger than six get a per-vehicle plan in the same thread. Pay the driver on the day, AED cash or card. -
Who actually runs the safari I book on this site?
BookMySafari.ae handles the booking. The safari itself is operated by Velari Tourism L.L.C, a Dubai DET-licensed tour operator carrying license #1491675, verifiable on the UAE National Economic Register. RTA-certified drivers on every run, licensed guides at camp. Pull the license up on the NER before you book. Takes 30 seconds. -
Are the prices on this page really the final AED amount I pay?
Yes. Every AED on a package page already includes the 5% UAE VAT. No checkout. No booking fee. No service charge. Paid extras are spelled out on the page: shisha AED 50, quad biking from AED 120, alcohol at licensed camps AED 35 to 90 per serve. You decide on the day. Nothing creeps onto the bill at the camp register. -
Is a Dubai desert safari safe for kids, pregnant guests, or seniors?
Kids under 4 ride free. Ages 4 to 11 pay the child rate. Pregnancy, back or neck issues, motion sensitivity, anyone who simply does not want the G-forces: we route you onto the no-dune-bashing variant. Same AED price as the standard evening. Camel rides stay available across every variant. Every driver carries an RTA Safari Driving Permit on top of a UAE driving licence. Expecting? Read the desert safari during pregnancy guide for the trimester-by-trimester breakdown. -
Which dune system will I actually drive in?
Standard evening safaris run into the Lahbab or Al Awir red dunes, assigned by day and pickup zone, both within 25 to 45 minutes of central Dubai. Premium and VIP packages can route through Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve. Heritage and luxury packages go inside the gated Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. The exact dune system sits on the package page itself. No vague "red dunes" copy. You know where the Cruiser is going before you confirm. -
How much does a desert safari in Dubai cost?
Published packages run from AED 149 per person for the morning safari up to AED 2,500 for the top private package, VAT included. Shared evening safaris start at AED 199. Private 4x4 hires are priced per vehicle, from AED 899 for up to six guests. There is no separate ticket: the package price is the ticket price, entry to the desert camp included. Every price sits on its package page, and the AED on the page is the AED you pay. -
Do I get desert safari Dubai tickets?
No paper ticket, and nothing to print. Your WhatsApp confirmation is the entry document: the same message carries your exact pickup time and the VAT-inclusive AED total. Show that chat to the driver when the Land Cruiser reaches your lobby. Entry to the desert camp is already part of the package price, so there is no gate ticket to buy on the day. -
Are there desert safari Dubai offers or discount codes?
No coupon games. The published AED price is already the working price, VAT included, and it stays the same on the page, on WhatsApp, and at the camp. Groups larger than six get a per-vehicle plan in the same WhatsApp thread, which usually works out cheaper per head than six separate seats. Kids under 4 ride free. -
How do I choose a desert safari operator in Dubai?
Check three things before booking with anyone: a license number you can verify on the UAE National Economic Register, VAT-inclusive AED pricing published on the page, and a named dune system. BookMySafari publishes all three on every package page. Safaris here run under Velari Tourism L.L.C. -
Are desert safaris open every day?
Yes. Safaris run daily year round, including UAE public holidays. The WhatsApp booking desk is monitored 8 AM to 11 PM Dubai time, seven days a week, and overnight messages get answered at the morning shift.
